The design I had imagined was first a hand drawn art and shortly after a wonderful piece of jewellery on my finger. It was my 1st time creating the perfect jewellery with Doyen and it certainly isn't the last.
I had an unique request for jewelry that needed intense customization. I wished to make my wedding band fit an extremely unusual Tiffany ring designed by Frank Gerry, that is my engagement ring. Doyen not just got it right, but the finish and attention to detail was was on par with the Tiffany ring. Even the inscription of my husband's name on the inside was done in a classy and clear font. It was just perfect.
Honestly, buying jewelry has terrified me, let alone purchasing pieces across state lines. I wanted to create a Maori Karu out of gold and came to Doyen with this unique request. In Ta Moko tattoo art, the koru represents parenthood, ancestry, and genealogy. It's believed to have human characteristics - a head, an eye, a neck, body, and tail. Because of these human characteristics, designs with a single koru and multiple koru growing from it are said to represent whakapapa (ancestry). Essentially, a family tree made from the koru design. I wanted to create a pendant around this traditional belief and symbol. I had shared this desire and history with Doyen and they created the perfect Koru pendant for me. The golden Karu created by Doyen is so unique and special that everyone notices it.
My very special wedding ring is from Doyen. I love their designs and the quality of diamonds is excellent. I specially want to thank Devesh and the team Doyen for making the alterations that I wanted for my ring after about a year. Will definitely recommend Doyen and especially for wedding jewelry.
